Shri Bhupinder Singh Bhalla, Secretary, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), along with Shri Lalit Bohra, Joint Secretary, MNRE, led an Indian delegation to the 10^th Berlin Energy Transition Dialogue (BETD) held from 19 - 20 March 2024. The delegation also included  Shri Abhay Bakre, Director General of the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) under the Ministry of Power (MoP). BETD serves as a platform for global dialogue on energy transition involving governments, businesses, and civil society. This year, ministers from various countries such as Namibia, Oman, Uruguay, and Bangladesh participated in the event.

During the conference, Shri Bhalla participated as a panellist in the session titled “A Global Renewables & Energy Efficiency Target – Commitment to Action”, alongside other high-ranking officials. The session focused on discussing countries' goals and the importance of effective policies in achieving them.

Additionally, Shri Bhalla delivered a speech at the 7th Make in India Mittelstand (MIIM) Exchange Platform, held on 19 March, hosted by the Embassy of India in Berlin. He shared the platform with Dr. Andreas Nicolin, Deputy Director General at the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action of Germany (BMWK), and representatives from the private sector. MIIM, part of the Make in India Initiative, offers support services for German Mittelstand companies and family-owned enterprises looking to enter the Indian market.
