German Energiewende Exhibition and Workshop at IIT Delhi

Indo-German Energy Forum (IGEF-SO) in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT Delhi) organised the exhibition on Energy Transition in Germany from 23 to 26 February 2018 at IIT Delhi. The 4 days of exhibition and the workshop saw participation from students, faculty, researchers, representatives of public and private sector and Governement officials.

The Inauguration took place with Mr. Wolfgang Köster, Head, Economic Cooperation & Development, Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany, Smt. Anju Bhalla, Joint Secretary, DST, Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India, Dr. Ashvini Kumar, Senior Director TERI, Prof. Dr. V Ramgopal Rao, Director, IIT Delhi and Dr. Winfried Damm, Head, Indo-German Energy Programme, GIZ India. The session was moderated by Mr. Tobias Winter, Indo-German Energy Forum.

IGEF-SO together with IIT Delhi also organized a one-day Workshop on “Global Energy Transition – in special context to Germany and India“. Prof. Dr. Viresh Dutta, Head, Centre for Energy Studies, IIT Delhi presented Roof Top PV Systems at IIT Delhi. Special guests from Germany Ms. Heike Kerber, Director, VDE FNN, Germany and Dr.-Ing. Uwe Kaltenborn, Director Business Development, HIGHVOLT Prüftechnik Dresden GmbH spoke on Grid Integration of Variable Renewable Energy and Efficiency Enhancement in Grid Management respectively. Mr. Wesley Wojtas, Technical Expert, GIZ India presented the website, a tool to measure energy efficiency in. Mr. Stefan Hediger, Head of Energy Cell, German Development Bank KFW presented the Financial Investments in Green Energy Corridors.

IIT Delhi Faculty Prof. Bhim Singh, Prof. T.C. Kandpal and Prof. T.S. Bhatti brought important subjects on the table like Power Quality Issues in Solar Grid Interface Systems, Renewable Energy Policy in India and Ancillary Services for Grid Integration respectively. The presentations were followed by interactions and discussions between the audience and speakers.
