MRIIRS hosted the German Energy Transition exhibition from 22 January to 3 February 2018

The Manav Rachna International Institute of Research and Studies (MRIIRS), Faridabad hosted the German Energy Transition exhibition from 22 January to 3 February 2018. Indo-German Energy Forum (IGEF-SO) organized the Inauguration ceremony & Ribbon cutting of the Exhibition was held on 22 January in the presence of Mr. Tobias Winter, Director, Mr. Anil Kumar Bellary, Co-director and Mr. Michael Reck from Indo-German Energy Forum (IGEF-SO) and Dr. N.C. Wadhwa, Vice-Chancellor and Dr. Krishan Kant, Executive Director, MRIIRS.

The inauguration was attended by nearly 350 students from the institution and was followed by a guided tour of the exhibition. The German Federal Foreign Office has put together the exhibition “Germany’s Energiewende”- German Energy Transition, which is being presented for the first time in India. This travelling exhibition explains the German Energy Transition, highlighting the importance of energy efficiency and renewable energy for the future.

Indo German Energy Forum (IGEF-SO) has been charged with the responsibility of taking this exhibition around different institutions and events to reach interested audience and educate people about energy transition.  Having travelled to various countries like the USA, Australia and so on, the exhibition will remain in India from December to April 2018. The exhibition was displayed at the German House in December and at the World Book Fair followed by Manav Rachna International Institute of Research and Studies, Faridabad in January where it was visited by thousands of visitors keen to gain insight into energy transition.Germany’s Energiewende or Energy Transition is a project for sustainable, affordable and secure supply of energy in the country in the future. The project thus directly addresses the challenges of climate change in the world. The exhibition at MRIIRS was visited by young energy enthusiasts, research scholars, students and faculty from reputed institutes in the vicinity.
