3rd Global Renewable Energy Investment Meeting and Expo (RE-INVEST 2020)

The 3rd RE-INVEST 2020 took place from 26 - 28 November 2020. Hosted by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), the fair on renewable energy was held virtually this year. The welcoming words came from Prime Minister Narendra Modi. RE-INVEST 2020 was a two-day virtual governmental conference on renewable energy and future energy decisions and included a virtual exhibition area with countries, states and renewable energy companies. The event included 6 state sessions and more than 20 plenary and technical sessions. More than 200 speakers, including about 80 international speakers, spoke in the various sessions.

To increase the visibility of German companies, the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) organised a German country session "Opportunities and Challenges of Decarbonisation" at the conference on November 27 with a broad program on PV, grid integration and hydrogen.
The event was opened by Secretary Indu Shekhar Chaturvedi (MNRE) and Director General Thorsten Herdan (BMWi). Dr. Antje Berger, German Embassy in New Delhi, presented the current COBENEFITS Policy Report India, which is funded by the BMU. Participating in a panel discussion were: Mr. Dinesh Jagdale, Joint Secretary at MNRE, Mr. Abhay Bakre, Director General at the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), Dr. Philipp Stammler, Head of Division at BMWi, Prof. Dr. Eicke Weber, President of the European Solar Manufacturing Council (ESMC) and Dr. Winfried Damm, Head of Energy GIZ India. More than 600 people participated in the session.
In cooperation with the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce, IGEF-SO organised a virtual German pavilion where more than 35 German companies and associations were represented.
