Indo-German Energy Forum (IGEF-SO) became supporting partner of the 4th edition of Smart Grid Week (ISGW) held from 5 to 9 March 2018 which was attended by more than 2.000 delegates and visitors. India Smart Grid Week is considered as one of the top five international event on Smart Grids. 245 experts from 38 countries from power sector discussed about the advanced solutions for grid modernization, e-mobility and renewable energy integration at the event.

The conference and exhibition were inaugurated by Mr. A K Bhalla, Secretary, Ministry of Power and Co-Chair of the Indo-German Energy Forum; together with Dr. Ajay Mathur, Director General, TERI; His Excellency Mr. Upendra Tripathy, Interim Director General of International Solar Alliance; Mr. Praveer Sinha, CEO & MD, Tata Power Delhi Distribution Ltd; His Excellency Mr. Klas Molin, Ambassador of Sweden to India; Dr. Reji Kumar Pillai President of ISGF and Chairman of Global Smart Grid Federation among other high-profile guests from the global power sector. Experts from 38 countries from power sector discussed about the advanced solutions for grid modernization, e-mobility and renewable energy integration at the event.

The event included different technical sessions, technical paper presentations and an exhibition which was a showcase of latest Smart Grid technologies. Mr. Anuj Sharma, Indo-German Energy Programme, participated in the sessions on “Digitalization of Utilities, Grid Modernization, Smart Metering” with presentations on the present status of “Smart Grid Pilot Projects”. GIZ India representatives interacted with officers of companies like Tata power-DDL who shared their experience about reduction of the technical and commercial (AT&C) losses of electricity in Delhi from 53.1 % to 8.59 % in 16 years.
